Questions have been raised about the federal government-issued advertisement. Applicants also wanted whether the federal government had the authority to initiate and finalize the appointment process. Under the Companies Ordinance, 1984, the federal government, as the primary shareholder of public sector companies, can influence its management. Instead of working through the board, through its appointed directors, the federal government had exaggerated its role in the AIFF after the disco rs and its negative results from the federal government's power sector. Direct intervention through ad hoc measures in the management of companies promotes compliance and duties of the Companies Ordinance, 1984, and enhances the independence and accountability of the administration, thus bringing efficiency and transparency. The Disco and Public Sector Companies Affairs (Corporate Governance) Rules, 2013 were designed to govern the governance of such companies, and, under the auspices of the Disco Government Rules, were appointed to senior positions in the public sector. In relation to this, internationally, there is a transparent, talented and ambitious selection of public sector companies for senior management positions.
