Section 14 (5) of the Representation of People Act 1976 Approval of the nomination of the defendant's papers confirms that the appellant had allegedly made a default charge against the respondents in payment of tax that the Department of Taxation accepted. That there was no tax due against the defendant. Thus, the Returning Officer was allowed to accept the defendant's papers nomination based on the material on record.
