UP-GRADATION OF JUDICIAL OFFICERS/STAFF AND ALLOWANCE ETC. versus
Upgradation of Judicial Officers of the Judiciary Subordinate to Arts 9, 61 and 76 The applicants prayed for the upgrade of Judicial Officers, Staff and Allowance Gilgit-Baltistan, which was part of Pakistan and in compliance with the applicable judicial policy in Pakistan. An ordinary person is expected under the Northern Areas Governance Order 1994 and now under the Gilgit-Baltistan (Empowerment and Self-Governance) Order, 2009, the highest judiciary of Gilgit-Baltistan was regarded as equivalent to the superior judiciary of Pakistan. Subordinate judiciary should be treated as equal to the subordinate judiciary in the provinces of Gilgit-Baltistan, and it would be fair to adhere to the policy of the superior courts in the provinces of Pakistan with respect to the classification of judicial officers in the subordinate judiciary. In order to address the difference in the status and quality of judicial service in Gilgit Baltistan and to bring to light the principle of equal and fair treatment of judicial services in the provinces of Pakistan, the Supreme Appeal Court held that the Judicial Officers of the Subordinate Judiciary of Gilgit-Baltistan Upgrading Gilgit-Baltistan in the use of options
