But the collector had to pay interest on the excess amount in the form of a compounded interest payment of 8%. Overpayments are paid and the excess amount is referring to the difference between the court-set amount. And this is judged by the collector. Provided that the amount fixed by the Court is greater than the amount received by the Land Acquisition Collector, such interest was to be paid effectively from the date mentioned in the judgment approved by the referee and until the excess amount was deposited.
