Article 29 Constitution of Pakistan, Article 199 Constitution Petition Providing Applicants Retirement of Housing by Government Employees After Government Housing Allotment Retirement Says Residential Workers, Upon Their Retirement, a Six-Month Exemption for Maintenance of Housing Period was granted; under Rule 29A of the Residential Allotment Rules 2002, a civil servant may retain six months' residency from employment; the government may extend the retention only once after retirement. In the present case, government employees are allowed to maintain residence for one year after the expiry of six months, after the expiry of the six-month grace period, for whatever reason the government is able to retain employees in the public interest. Housing allocation rules can be relaxed. Only for matters of entitlement and hardship, and the reasons were to be recorded in this regard. In the present case, no mention was made of the ability to maintain housing after an additional period of six months; the competent authorities were obliged to maintain the spirit of the law, using discretion so that people, by law, would be temporarily on the system. Could not lose confidence the whole part of the dwelling house was entitled to take possession of it
