Pakistan Penal Code Section 302 (b) Constitution of Pakistan (1973), Article 185 (3) was granted leave of appeal by the Supreme Court, only to consider the question of the quantum of punishment in view of the fact. Fellow suspects, especially one who was equally told about firing the victim, were also acquitted of the charge.
