Sections 4, 11, 18 and 54 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Interim Constitution Act of 1974, VIII of the Jammu and Kashmir Interim Constitution Act (VIII of 1974), leave to appeal to the Supreme Court for determination of the amount of land acquisition compensation. On the basis that instead of filing applications for leave for appeal, direct appeals should have been filed in the Supreme Court under Rule 54 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, for the common practice that leave for an appeal. Applications filed. The Supreme Court allowed 189 petitions in the interest of the Justice Party to appeal directly under Section 54 of the Land Acquisition Act, mainly when no limitation period was set for the appellants in the Supreme Court's rules. The applications for leave of appeal in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, were read with section 42 (2) of the Independent under section 454 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.
