‑This is a complaint under section 10 of the Industrial Relations Ordinance, 1969, made by the Registrar of Trade Unions, Karachi for a directive for cancellation of Registration of the respondent Trade Union.

It is stated in the complaint that the respondent Trade Union was required to furnish Annual Returns for the period ending 31st December 1969 and 31st December 1970 by 30th April 1970 and 30th April 1971 respectively, as required by section 21 of the I. R. O., 1969 and the West Pakistan Trade Unions Regulations. But the Trade Union concerned failed to submit the Returns in spite of show‑cause notices dated 31st July 1971. The Trade Union has thereby contravened the provisions of section 21 of the I. R. O. 1969 and Union has thereby contravened the provisions of section 21 of the I. R. O. 1969 and Regulation No. 23 of the West Pakistan Trade Unions Regulations, 1968.

The respondent Trade Union was served through its General Secretary, but none appeared on its behalf. Consequently, the matter proceeded ex parte. Mr. Baqar Ali K ban, the Deputy Director, Labour Welfare, Government of Sind, has sworn affidavit in support of the averments made in the complaint. Since there is no evidence in rebuttal nor any cause shown by the Trade Union concerned as to why they have failed to submit the Annual Returns in spite of reminders the directive as prayed is issued to the Registrar, Trade Unions, Karachi for the cancella tion of the Registration of the respondent Trade Union.
