This petition for special leave to appeal is from a judgment and order of a Special Bench of the High Court of East Pakistan passed in a petition filed under Article 98 of the Constitution.
The question raised in the case was as to the amount of Court‑fees payable on the memorandum of appeal presented against the award of an arbitrator. This question 'involves interpretation of section 8 of the Court Fees Act read with Article 1 of Schedule I ; and Article 11 of Schedule II of the Act. There is divergence of judicial opinion on this point. One o'" the Judges of the Special Bench has also differed with the majority Judges. As the question is one of general public importance, w ; grant leave to appeal as prayed.
