Punjab Local Government Election Ordinance 2000 Section 14 (1) (e) Constitution of Pakistan (1973), Article 199 Constitution Petition The jurisdiction of the Chief Election Commissioner on the qualification of the candidate was raised at the time of submission of the nomination. The papers, the objection was rejected by the Returning Officer and the constitutional petition filed by the object was also dismissed, the applicant was declared a retired candidate and the election was adjourned before the Election Tribunal on the basis that Applicant was not metric. As a result of the election petition, the defendant filed an application before the Chief Election Commissioner, which found that the applicant was not eligible because he had the educational qualifications required under section 14 (1) (e) of the Punjab Local Government Election Ordinance 2000. Was not obtained and based on an inquiry report submitted by an official bridge panel by the applicant disqualifying the Election Order approved by the Chief Election Commissioner, it was stated that he was not seriously condemned nor was any case. Was running and no inquiry was made nor the applicant was required to submit a copy of the inquiry report. The report had only one opinion and the least needed was that the person be present in the witness box and he should be allowed to take the interim examination himself. Powers were handed over, the High Court, under the circumstances, passed a stay order against the petitioner and the case was remanded to the Chief Election Commissioner for further proceeding as per law.
