Sections 35 and 397 of the Criminal Procedure Code (XLV of 1860), section 302/34 were sentenced to four counts each of those convicted of murder in addition to the death sentence, But in his appeal, the death sentences on each count were changed to life imprisonment. The accused, who had already been convicted for more than 25 years, prayed that the jail authorities be directed to consider the four-count sentence for running concurrently, and so on. He was sentenced to serve more than 25 years with which he should be ordered to be released. A person cannot be imprisoned for more than 25 years.
