Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, as amended under Sections 23B, 23C & 23E [as amended under the Finance Act (V1 of 1987), section 4] of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947. Under section 23, under section 4 of the Finance Act 1987, a new forum was provided where a case could be heard before the Repeal Act could be enforced, followed by it. Therefore, there was no longer a jurisdiction to prosecute the offenses under Sections 12 and 23 (1) of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, and accordingly the conviction and sentence of the accused were kept separate.
