Punjab Local Councils (Election Petition) Rules 1979 R9 Constitution of Pakistan (1973), Article 199 Tribunal has clearly misinterpreted the powers and jurisdiction created by the R9 of the Electoral Application Rules, 1979. In the light of the correct state of the law, the non-binding injunction by the tribunal has been declared with no legal authority nor any legal effect, and the case has been remanded for fresh disposal in accordance with the law.
