r. 17 (ii) (a)--‑Relative of deceased Lambardar can inherit Lambardari merely on basis of relationship if he is descended in male line of paternal great‑grandfather of last incumbent‑No other condition relating to great‑grandfather or any ancestor having held Lambardari.
When I issued notice in this case, I was told that the respondent cannot claim the Lambardari solely on the basis of his relationship to the deceased Lambardar, because the grand father of the deceased Lambardar never held the Lambardari appointment.. I have to‑day looked at the Land Revenue Rule 17 (ii) (a) and I find that I need not have issued notice on the above ground. The rule lays down that a relative of the deceased Lambardar can inherit the Lambardari merely on the basis of the relationship if he is descended in the male line of the paternal great‑grandfather of the last incumbent. There is no other condition relating to the great‑grandfather or any other ancestor having held the Lambardari.
In the above circumstances, I dismiss this petition for revision.
