Regular 423 Pension Benefit Service Length Determination A government employee was retired after completing 31 years, 11 months and 14 days, but he was pensioned by a civil servant for 31 years to serve a pension for 32 years. Was entitled to benefits, since only the 17-day period was favorable toward the completion of 32 years, under Regulation 423 (1) of the Civil Service Regulations, the reduction of the period, automatically extended if not more than 6 months, was authorized. A shortage of more than six months was also accepted by the authority, provided that the government related to civil servants was terminated 17 days under Regln 423 (2) of the Civil Service Regulations.
